State government is big. It has more than 100 agencies, boards, commissions, and elected officials' offices.

The Ohio Assistant can help you find what you need.

Look for the red and white icon in the lower right corner of any Ohio.gov page. Click it to activate the Ohio Assistant.

Look for the Ohio Assistant button in the lower right corner of any page.The Ohio Assistant can help with general questions about state government and services. It has information on nearly 400 topics from dozens of state offices, and it is always learning more. If it doesn't have the information you need, it will search multiple State of Ohio websites for you and return the most relevant results.

The Ohio Assistant is an automated system that provides you with 24/7 help.

  • The Ohio Assistant is not a real person and it cannot connect you to one. 
  • To speak with a person, contact the appropriate agency, division, board, or office during regular business hours. 
  • If you don't know where to start, the Ohio Assistant may help you find the best state office to assist you. 

Do not share sensitive personal information with the Ohio Assistant. Examples include your birth date, social security number, Medicaid number, etc.

For best results:

  • Keep your questions short. Focus on keywords.
  • If you know the agency, program, service, etc. that you need help with, mention it by name.
